Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) comprise a heterogeneous group of malignant hematopoietic stem cell disorders that are characterized by ineffective blood production and variable risk transformation into acute myeloid leukemia. In recent years, significant progress in MDS biological research has allowed the addition new drugs to few existing therapeutic options. This article presents recommendations experts Polish Adult Leukemia Group for treatment myelodysplastic syndromes, management conditions particularly common patients with i.e. infections, iron overload, disease recurrence after transplantation. The aim this study was present clear algorithm facilitate decision-making everyday practice.
